Driving
Under the Influence Program
The DUI
Program at Alternatives is based on the idea that education,
intervention and treatment can have positive effects on the
lives of DUI offenders.
Offenders
must be evaluated through a statewide, standardized screening
program to determine the nature and extent of chemical use.
The evaluation, which is part of the client's court order,
determines the extent of participation in the program.
The Alternatives DUI Program offers four tracks. All clients must attend 12.5 hours of
education classes (Track 1). Tracks 2,3,4 and Intermediate Punishment 4 are designed to motivate
the client to take a more personal look at their own drinking
while providing the opportunity to interact and share with
others.
