Adult
Training Facilities
Turtle Creek Valley Mental Health/Mental Retardation, Inc. has
been providing high quality day programming for
adults with mental retardation through its Adult Training Facilities since 1978.
The program offer an unique blend of
opportunities that range from training in
areas such as cooking, home management, health maintenance, vocational skills and
employment readiness to social/recreational activities such as picnics, bowling,
movies, exercise groups, trips to local
attractions and sporting events. For community-oriented individuals, opportunities to
volunteer, with the support of staff, are also
offered. Family involvement in all aspects of
the program development is encouraged.

Senior Program
The Senior Program
provides needed supports and educational information for
older adults with mental retardation. While at the program,
individuals have the opportunity to participate in a variety
of daily activities, such as: bingo, card parties, arts &
crafts and holiday parties.
Outings
to various places, such as
picnics, community events and mall trips, are offered. Adventurous seniors
also can participate in occasional overnight trips.
A nurse evaluates all senior's health concerns four times a year.

Psychiatric
Supports
Psychiatric
Supports addresses the unique challenges that a dual mental
health/mental retardation diagnosis presents to an individual
and family. A therapist provides the individual with one-to-one
supports. Some supports that may be focused on are symptom
management, medication monitoring or relaxation techniques.
The therapist participates in the interdisciplinary team meetings
and works closely with the psychiatrist, who specializes in
serving individuals with dual diagnoses.

Community
Link
The Community Link program supports individuals as
they maximize their independence in the community. All services that
are provided are based on the interests and desires of
the individual. The program includes: group activities
(YMCA memberships, bowling leagues, sporting and cultural events,
etc.), one-to-one supports, social/habilitative services, volunteer placement training,
vacation/respite trips and in-home respite services. The staff's
main goal is to assist in "linking" individuals
to their community.

Mental
Retardation Residential Services and Support
TCV MH/MR, Inc. provides individuals with the support and service they need
to live successfully in the community. Participants in the
programs are assessed to determine their support needs in
areas such as daily living skills, home management, budgeting,
shopping, safety skills, community awareness and recreation.
The goal is to help every participant obtain independence within
his or her home and community.
TCV Residential
has the following levels of service:
- Community
Homes (Staff support

- Semi-Independent
Living (Staff support up to 30 hours each week)
- Supported
Living (Staff support up to 10 hours each week)
